Community Guidelines
Last updated: April 2026
Slushology is a community recipe platform operated by Esquared Hospitality Ventures LLC d/b/a Slushology. These guidelines describe what we welcome, what we don't, and how we moderate. They apply to all user-generated content on the Slushology app, including recipe submissions, comments, profile pages, and any feature that lets you share content with other users.
What we welcome
- Original recipes you've made and tested
- Modifications and remixes of public-domain or community recipes (with credit)
- Helpful answers to other members' questions
- Photos of recipes you've prepared yourself
- Constructive reviews and ratings
- Equipment troubleshooting tips and workarounds
What we don't allow
- Medical advice. Specific dosing recommendations, instructions to skip or stop medications, or claims that any food cures or treats a disease. See our Disclaimer.
- Dangerous recipes. Recipes that exceed your equipment's stated alcohol or sugar limits, recipes that mix incompatible ingredients in ways that could cause illness, or recipes designed to harm.
- Spam and undisclosed promotion. Vendor and affiliate posts must be disclosed. Promotional accounts that masquerade as community members will be removed.
- Hate speech, harassment, or threats. No content targeting individuals or groups based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin.
- Illegal content. No content that violates US federal or state law, including the unauthorized sale of prescription medications, controlled substances, or the targeting of minors with alcohol-containing recipes.
- Stolen content. Recipes copied from copyrighted cookbooks, food blogs, or other creators without permission. See our DMCA Policy.
- Off-topic content. Politics, unrelated commerce, and content that has nothing to do with frozen drinks or related cooking.
How we moderate
We aim to keep Slushology a useful, friendly space without over-policing legitimate discussion. Our moderation approach:
- Pre-publication review for new contributors during their first few submissions.
- Reactive moderation for established contributors — we review when content is reported by other users or flagged by automated checks.
- Same-day review for any reported medical-advice or safety post.
- Removal then conversation — if we remove content, we reach out to explain why and (where appropriate) help you revise and resubmit.
- Three-strike policy for repeat violations: warning, restriction, then ban for repeated violation of the same rule.
How to report content
Email [email protected] with the URL of the content and a brief description of why it violates these guidelines. Include the words "Content Report" in the subject line for fastest review.
Appeals
If your content was removed and you believe it shouldn't have been, reply to the removal email or contact [email protected]. We review every appeal within five business days.
Section 230
Slushology is an interactive computer service as defined by 47 U.S.C. § 230. We are not the publisher or speaker of user-submitted content, and we operate in good faith to moderate content that violates these guidelines. Nothing in these guidelines constitutes a guarantee that all violating content will be detected or removed.
